What do you want to be when you grow up?

Hand Drawing
"What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up?" is a nostalgic zine about childhood the freest trial version of life, filled with imagination, play, and pure love.
I looked back at the time I felt most alive and present: childhood. A time that’s magical and unrepeatable, now just a memory — but one I hold close.
Through a playful, hand-cut collage style and intentionally childlike drawings (some made with my left hand), I recreated iconic childhood scenes from sun-in-the-corner landscapes to characters based on myself and a friend, offering both a boy’s and girl’s view of growing up.
It’s melancholic, joyful, and deeply personal a tribute to the cartoons, toys, and dream-worlds that shaped me. While rooted in my Eastern European background, the feeling is universal: the ache of a beautiful time that’s gone, but never forgotten.
